About Me

My name is Brandon. I have been playing Go for over 10 years. I have been making YouTube videos and teaching for around 5 years. On Asian servers, I’m around 7d. I picked the name Contraband Go for a few reasons. One is that if you put cat and Brandon together, you get contraband. The second is that my style and what I teach is not very common. Most players like to teach fighting, being aggressive, and trying to keep sente as long as possible. I teach almost the opposite. I teach people to build strong groups and to focus on groups rather than on points, sente, or anything else. I have nothing against fighting, but you should have strong groups before fighting.
